Your Opportunity:

We have an exciting role within our newly restructured Finance and People Team across the two Councils for an experienced HR Professional.  In this role you will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to build the workplace culture embedding an engaged and motivated shared workforce in accordance with industry best practice and legislative requirements. 

You will be responsible for:

  • Providing timely, accurate and practical advice to management and staff on human resource, industrial relation and organisational development matters.
  • Implementing and coordinating processes and systems which allow Council to attract, develop and retain appropriate and suitably qualified employees.
  • Proactively ensuring changes in human resource and industrial relation legislation and best practice are adopted and reflected in council operations and policies.
  • Fostering a productive and harmonious workforce.

What we are looking for:

A confident and experienced HR Professional with a broad range of experience.  You will have the ability to build strong working relationships and thrive in a fast-paced working environment. You will be able to work independently and provide sound recommendations to leaders on all facets of HR. 

You will have tertiary qualifications in Human Resources and a minimum of three years’ experience in a similar role.  There is flexibility for the role to be full-time or part-time (32 hours) depending upon skills, experience and output.

BUSINESS SUPPORT - RECORDS OFFICER

 

Kentish and Latrobe Councils are seeking an enthusiastic person to join the organisations in the role of Business Support - Records Officer. 

In this full-time role, you will support the Councils in undertaking records management in accordance with best practice and legislative requirements.  You will be responsible for maintaining the Electronic Document Management System as well as entering records and monitoring records for retention and disposal. 

You will have a qualification in records management or administration along with at least 5 years’ experience in a similar role.

BUILDING PERMIT OFFICER

Kentish and Latrobe Councils are seeking an enthusiastic person to join the organisations in the role of Building Permit Officer. 

In this part-time role, you will work to provide administrative services in order for the Councils to meet their building and plumbing compliance function in accordance with legislative requirements.  You will review applications, assess and issue permits as well as provide advice to prospective applicants about the approvals process. 

You will have a qualification in statutory compliance or business administration along with at least 2 years’ administration experience.
